November 1, 2016 | Tampa, FL
We are excited to announce that the City of Tarpon Springs has joined our fight for greater gender equality. On November 1, 2016, UNA-Tampa Bay received a proclamation in support of our CEDAW efforts by the City of Tarpon Springs. The proclamation received the support of Tarpon Springs Mayor Chris Alahouzos and was presented by City Commissioner Susan Slattery.
UNA-Tampa Bay would also like to recognize the steadfast efforts of our advocacy director, Noelle Polk Clark, who was spearheaded our CEDAW advocacy program. Mrs. Clark presented UNA-Tampa Bay’s local efforts and stressed the importance of implementing CEDAW-specific and influenced policies in the greater Tampa Bay Area.
Our CEDAW efforts have also received resolutions of support from the City of Tampa and St. Petersburg, as well as multiple NGOs, local leaders and private citizens.
