The United Nations Association of Tampa Bay is excited to announce our 2021 Picture My Life exhibit which will be held later this year. Date and venue will be added once those are confirmed.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. During this globally-themed reception, the experiences of 12 refugee children living in Tampa Bay, who have been given high-quality cameras and taught the basics of the photographic arts, will be exhibited and auctioned off during a night of moving stories and artistic expression.
Through the Picture My Life® program students affected by forced migration are taught how to take professional photography in small classrooms in the Tampa Bay area. The program covers costs of the professional camera equipment, lessons, classrooms and venues. At the end of each program, the students auction off their best work in which they receive all of the proceeds!
